Welcome to the When Can I Take My Driving Test Course
This is probably the most frequently asked question that Driving Instructors hear! The easiest answer is: ‘When you can drive with no help from your instructor, other than being given directions!’, or to quote the DVSA: ‘If you’re not getting it right with your instructor, then you’re not ready for your test.’
Requirements:
No special requirements are needed for this course, and you can revisit it as many times as you wish
Who this course is for:
This course will be of great benefit if you are in the early stages of learning, as it will give you an idea of what is required, and also if you are close to your test, to make absolutely sure you are prepared!
I've been driving with Mum and Dad as well as lessons, and this really helped me. Just done this course and asked my Mum to give her view as well, and she made me realise I'm actually quite confident driving, but I question everything I'm doing in case I do something wrong. The course highlighted areas that I don't feel as confident with and I'm going to work on these on my lessons

nowhere near!
I've had about 30 lessons and my Dad says should be doing my test now as it only took him 10 lessons. I keep telling him my instructor said it takes more lessons now then when Dad did his test! I answered all the questions truthfully and it was an eye opener to realise how much more independent I have to be, but I know I'm getting there. Going to do the next course now to make sure Im prepared!
